Yellow has been my go-to colour this summer. It’s always been one of my favourite colours but this year it stood proud as the main colour in my wardrobe. I cant quite figure out what it is that makes it such a good colour. Perhaps the fact that it looks good on anyone and goes with everything?
S/S 2017 was full of different shades of yellow – especially in Primark. My last few posts have featured Primark quite heavily, which is something I never saw happening. I still have my values and my opinions about fast fashion hasn’t changed.. but when you get giftcards for Christmas…

Its striped and yellow and a size 12. There was only one left on the rails and I liked the idea of it so much I decided to just get it and work with it.
In theory, this romper is cute. However perhaps due to getting a size a smidge too big – it isnt the most flattering in photos. That paired with the fact that it’s kinda see-through has left me with a few regrets. I’m really tempted to put some scissors to it and turn it into a crop top and shorts. The material is light and airy and perfect for summer.
It gives me flashback to swimsuits at their very beginning. Something you might see on a postcard from Blackpool – especially when the sleeves inevitably make it onto your shoulders because you dared to move your arms.

I paired the romper with sandals I bought many years ago while in France. The friend I was visiting had a pair from the same brand and I fell in love. At that point in time they were the most expensive pair of shoes I had ever bought and I wore them all summer long. They’ve held up incredibly well and every summer they are reintroduced and worn to death. and while I doubt I’ll ever buy another pair – Les Tropeziennes has a place in my heart.
I also decided to wear a cheap pair of mirrored sunglasses from Primark (that I can actually wear now thanks to getting contact lenses!) and a choker which was also from…..Primark.

Summer is practically over now but i’m not sure i’m ready to say goodbye. The blog has been on a little hiatus these past few months and while the break was something I definitely needed.. I do feel like I haven’t made the most of the summer and all the possible outfits I could have created.
But alas jumper season is upon us and while it is my favourite season.. i’m going to see how much longer I can make use of these summer clothes. Perhaps summer on hxanou is only just beginning..
