A month or so ago I was scrolling through facebook and an AD popped out at me. It was a video of a girl changing into several outfits using only a few items of clothing, advertising an app called ‘Cladwell Daily Outfits’. As someone that has always been intrigued by capsule wardrobes I couldn’t take my eyes away and immediately clicked to find out more. Facebook knows me too well.
There was a dress in particular in the video that I completely fell in love with and so I emailed the company asking where they got the dress from. Alexa quickly got back to me with the unfortunate news that it was borrowed from her sister who had been given it as a birthday gift.
My dreams of owning that dress were crushed.
However in my research to find an email address to ask I had also become curious about the app itself – and now that I had Alexa’s attention, why not ask? Alexa was more than happy to give me all the information I required – and more!
So, we are a clothing app that does not sell clothing! We are a styling app that curates daily outfits for you, based on the weather, with the clothes you already own.
The app itself is really quite simple to use. After signing up you are then prompted to select items that you already own. They dont have to be exactly the same as the image providing the base colour and cut are similar.
You are then taken to your closet and shown how to add more items. You can also see every possible outfit that the app has made out of the items you selected. The discover tab is there to show you items that you could add to your wardrobe – and how many more outfits each item would create!
Its pretty cool.
Though important to remember that as they arent a shopping app it is completely up to you to find the items suggested to buy. The only option the app gives you is to add the item to your closet, to save time I guess ?
and with that, I decided to use the app for a week and see how I got on with it.
MONDAY
Jumper → Rokit London ○ Jeans → Primark ○ Sandals → Les Tropeziennes
It felt like much more of an outfit that had effort put into it than if I’d just worn converse.
TUESDAY
Cardigan → H&M ○ Cami → Miss Selfridge ○ Jeans → Primark ○ Boots → Primark
I opened the app and this outfit combination was the first it suggested to me.
I bought the cardigan on a whim during a sale at H&M earlier this year. An outfit idea popped into my head the moment I saw it but I was never able to re-create it.. until Tuesday. This outfit was ever so flattering, perfect for the weather and still chic enough to take instagram photos in.

WEDNESDAY
Jumper → Primark ○ Jeans → Primark ○ Boots → eBay
This outfit made me look a lot slimmer than I actually am – but I don’t think i’d wear this combination again. I felt a little bit too self concious of how I looked. The image showed a slightly longer jumper which I imagine would have made all the difference.
I finally understand the OTK boots and jeans trend though.
THURSDAY
Cardigan → H&M ○ TShirt → Miss Selfridge ○ Jeans → Primark ○ Heels → Urban Outfitters
I really really wanted to like this one. These strappy sandals are the current love of my life. I got them from Urban Outfitters despite not really being in a position to buy new shoes. #noregrets
Again, like Wednesday, the image showed a longer top – which I do own but couldnt find. I settled for a shorter one from Miss Selfridge. Not my best idea. The stripes were more blue-ish and it just felt like a very mismatched outfit.
I do love those shoes though.
FRIDAY
Jacket → Keela ○ Tank Top → Urban Outfitters ○ Jeans → Primark ○ Boots → River Island
Another outfit I don’t think I ever would have put together. A white tank top and green jacket!? Thats was too much colour for a usual han outfit. I got the jacket from Tom when we were newly dating. He let me borrow it and well.. now we live together and it is referred to as “hans jacket”. There’s a couple polaroids in the inside pocket on Tom and Cookie. So. Incredibly. Cute. More jackets should have secret inside pockets.
I really really really liked this outfit – though if wearing for a busy day I would probably substitute the heeled boots for flat boots as my legs just aren’t what they used to be.
and that was how my week in outfits! All picked by an app. We truly are living in the future. I’ve since added more items of clothing to my closet and have been using it pretty much daily. I save so much time (and energy!) that I really dont know how I survived without it.
So, now you’re completely in love with the app – what next? Well, why not sign up and download it! You can choose from a couple of subscription plans, ranging from $7.99 monthly to $39.99 annually. When signing up online use the promo code hxanou when for 7 free days!
(alternatively you can sign up through the app and use iTunes to pay)

OMG this app sounds AMAZING! I’m definitely going to download this. So many times I wake up in the morning with no inspiration of what to wear and just throw on anything. This will also work well for when I’m at my boyfriend’s as I only have a small selection of clothes there currently.
I absolutely love all these outfits, especially Tuesday’s! Sounds like an interesting little app and definitely a big help as I’m always struggling to decide on an outfit!
O.M.G. This is the best idea ever! I always end up wearing the same thing and I bet I could find so many new looks using the ap.
Technology is really something, this slightly reminds me of clueless, when Cher’s computer helps dress her in the morning. This would be good for the odd night out for me.
Wow I really love this idea, I am so rubbish at putting together combinations and tend to stick to the tried and tested few so really like the thought of someone else picking suggestions for me!
That sounds so much interesting! I’ve never heard of an app that could dress me up. Definitely checking out this one for tomorrow’s lunch get together.
This is a bloody brilliant idea! Love this post and you look great in all of those outfits 😁
All the outfits are AMAZING!

This app sounds amazing and you’ve written this post perfectly. I love how well you style all of your outfits! xx
This… is so cool, and the outfits are genuinely so nice as well! I do struggle to think of things to wear on my days off so this might save some time for me!
